I don't have any spiritual issues with the health insurance laws and taxes, but since they materially HURT me and others, including taking away actual health care from people I know and care about in exchange for insurance that won't cover it, I have practical issues with the democratic platform.
That aside said, I'm in no way, shape, or form voting for Trump and feel strongly that no woman or Christian should.
I will admit that I'm coming to the Democratic Platform on healthcare from an Australian perspective, where the health care system certainly isn't perfect, but is certainly not as broken or as prejudicial as the American one.
I'll be voting and it won't be for that misogynistic crotch grabbing jerk!
After reading some other stuff above I can say that she isn't perfect. She is no better or worse than any male politician running for office. I don't like all she stands for either but Trump will be so much worse for us in the long and short term. He is mentally unbalanced. Will he be firing a foreign dignitary if they don't agree with him...will that lead to banning him from visiting a country? Throwing temper tantrums? Will he be saying foreign policy is rigged against him? Will he say something on TV like he does now and then deny he ever said it?
I have to admit, the obsession with Hillary being perfect (or not) is a little bewildering; but this is coming from a citizen of a country where you have to vote whether or not you like the candidates, whether or not you agree with their entire platform.
Sure, you can donkey vote, and I have in the past, but generally, it seems more practical to make a choice on the party that has better options for the platforms that I think shape who we are as a culture.
I don't like Republicans because they seem to want to send women back to the stone age (no say over their bodies or much of anything) of thinking. I vote for only 1 local Republican because she only does good for our community but she is the only one I vote for.
I think there are several coalitions within the Republican party, just as there are within the Democratic party - the economic conservatives and the social conservatives would probably be the most obvious divide, but I understand there are others.
In Australia, at least, a lot of our social programs were set as more progressive back in the past, and now our government (and the opposition, too, actually) are trying to drag everything into pure capitalism. Which, UGH.
