re-reading SG1 fanfic

This is what happens when my present and current fandom disappoints me - I go back and look for the thing I'm missing.

I always go back and read the good fic I have found over the years. It keeps my shows alive for me when they are gone.

I think the thing for me is that I like the interactions with the current fandoms, not just fandoms of auld. I don't want to just re-read the old stuff, I want to play with new stuff and discuss things and enjoy the now and not just the then.

And that's always harder to find as people move on in fandom and the fannish platforms that they use. (eg. LiveJournal.)

I'm grateful I can still find new stories written in my fandom but I will always hold onto the old ones as well. I know, sometime in the future that the writers will move on. I will probably as well if I get interested in something. Right now, not so much as I haven't found too much to get my interest, maybe Blue Bloods and Hawaii 50 but not too much else right now. I do understand what you're saying though hon. You like to keep moving and immersing yourself in new stuff.
