I'd say go sooner rather than later. Since sci-fi/fantasy became more mainstream (see: Game of Thrones, Marvel movies, etc.), the numbers have significantly increased, to the point where it's a mess. A fun mess, but a mess nevertheless.

And you're welcome - it's good for me to post up my pictures and dialogue so I remember the trip years later. :)

Your cosplay is wonderful! (Come by here, and my husband will gladly make you some steampunk accessories.) andveryginger and DH look amazing, too. (I have a weakness for Hawkeyes -- she better watch out... ;-) )

Actually, the cosplay I really want to do is a Chinese Steampunk with a 'fire rocket' and assorted other bits and pieces. One of these years!

So many Deadpools! And that's a pretty amazing duo by your roommates, and I like your getup as well :D Though I have to ask, was that an actual corset?

But yeah, Atlanta is...not really prepared for large influxes of people for extended periods of time? This is reflected in that they've had to continually spread out Dragoncon out to more and more hotels, but as it is the city...well. It has issues enough with daily flow of traffic. Honestly, I keep waiting to see if they'll move it out from downtown Atlanta to the outer parts, where you do have slightly more room.
