Ben Browder is someone I'd very much like to talk to (although not several hundreds dollars' worth of very much, alas.) I agree with what your friend said about a "good guy" portrayal of someone from the South - I very much enjoyed the John Crichton character on Farscape. I'm also from the same area he grew up in so I'd be amused to see if he knew of my particular hometown.
