i always wondered how the show's writers could have pulled off a teyla/john thing and get kanaan out of the picture so soon after their son was born (without making teyla seem flaky or out of character). too bad they didn't have you to work with them!

The way I see Teyla/Kanaan is that they're Athosian, from Pegasus. Their relationship wouldn't have to be "Earth Standard" ie. forever and ever love - it could be 'for the time being' or 'until we decide otherwise'. Earth morality (and it's restrictions) need not apply unless people are too hidebound to contemplate anything else.
So yeah, not difficult to do with a bit of thinking-outside-the-Stargate-Atlantis box.

As always I loved it especially your handling of Kanaan and Torren. I never imagine Teyla having a forever love with anyone other than John, Kanaan was a will placed diversion for her and he served his purpose to light the fire under his arse.
