[RL with Shito, backdated to yesterday]

Chika was bored. He'd actually finished his homework, he was so bored. Junpei wasn't around to hang out with or play video games, and all his solo games just seemed... boring. He couldn't even take an extra shift at the store, because the manager had grumbled that he had to let the other employees have some hours ( Read more... )

Shito was sitting on his bed, looking up at the ceiling and paying very little attention to the book in his lap. He was feeling pretty good about himself, which meant there was something terribly, terribly wrong.

But since he was feeling good about himself, he didn't really mind so much.

Chika knocked briefly and opened the door a moment later. That way Shito couldn't claim he'd been rude and not knocked, but he also couldn't tell Chika to go away. He grinned when he saw that Shito looked about as bored as Chika felt.

"Hey," he greeted his partner. "I'm bored outta my mind. You want to go hunt or something? Or we could just play cards." He held up the deck, grinning, fully expecting Shito to tell him to go to hell for that suggestion.

Shito sat up as Chika entered his room and grinned lopsidedly. Chika was a pretty good guy. Sure, he was annoying sometimes, but he was a decent partner. And at least with him around, Shito would be bored anymore.

And he was somewhat curious about card games. He hadn't played many of those.

"I don't feel like hunting," he said. "What kind of game do you want to play?"

Chika blinked, and then blinked again because the first time hadn't made the image change. Shito was still smiling at him, so Chika reluctantly concluded that it was the real thing.

That made him nervous. Really, really nervous.

"Hey, uh, you feeling okay?" he asked, totally bewildered. Had Shito ever smiled at him? Other than when he was pretending to be the nice guy at school?

Shito waved a hand grandly. "I feel great," he said honestly, his smile even widening a little. Chika was sort of adorable when he looked so confused. Kind of like Junpei, in a way.

But he needed to get things back on track. They were talking about card games, not about Shito, and he wanted to keep it that way. "Today's a good day, don't you think? Anyway, let's play. Can we sit on the bed or something, or should we go down to the cafeteria so we can have a table?"
