[There was something new on his comm,  and you can bet you're behind that Don was investigating that thing the second it showed up.]

[And then he found a new toy.]

[AUDIO]

I'm not entirely certain that the newest addition is the cause of this modification to my communicator, and I'm not willing to say that there's not going to be any consequences ( Read more... )

It might have. It wouldn't have been surprising considering recent events.

Hmnf. Point.

... wonder if we could blow them up.

[Pause]

I'm not sure. It seemed rather impenetrable when I tried to take it apart, though impenetrable doesn't necessarily mean indestructible...

...

But, uh, it probably wouldn't be the best idea to experiment with that idea!

Hey Don! Donnie!

This is so cool!

[Mike appears to be the right way up, but everything around him is upside down. Mike's actually hanging off his bed upside down while he talks.]

Isn't it?

[That was almost a squeak.]

[he's not even going to get on your case for your vertigo-inducing background]

I mean, I suppose I should be asking the question of how such a modication was managed, particularly since it seems as though it wasn't only my communicator effected. I hadn't thought it was, but then there's the question of how so many modifications might have been managed, assuming that everyone on the boat recieved one.

I should probably be more suspicious as well. This was, after all, very unexpected and hardly foreshadowed. There must be a reason for it...

I admit I'm probably in too good a mood for that. Have you noticed anything about this video feed that you might mention? Interference, quality...any ominous beeps or red flashing lights?

[Yes, he managed all that in under thirty seconds. He's sitting cross legged in his room, peering curiously at his brother, eyes bright.]

Dude, take a breath!

[Don looks so happy Mikey can't bear to tease him about this.]

Just the little red light thing up here.

[He moves his comm around to tap the light, giving Don a very closeup view of his plastron. Then he moves the camera back over.]

But this is so awesome! We can u-

[...Don blinks, tilting his head back, startled]

Mike?

[Mikey?]

[Miiiikey?]

[...Then he leans closer, eyes narrowing with thought]

[Leo sees what you're doing up there, Ironhide.

Okay Leonardo, careful. Let's try not to be condescending.]

I don't think it's a bomb.

Oh, likely not, I know. It was a thought, however.

[Don is in far too good a mood to be overly bothered with any tone Leo might accidentally utilize. Even his irritation at his elder brother has dimmed.]

I'm guessing the thing is just as indestructible as the rest of the comm. [Meaning it's not possible to take it apart.]

...[soft sigh]

Yes. You'd be correct.

...At least concerning everything I've tried so far.

[There's some hidden sullenness, there.]
