Prison Break drabbles
These were both written for the Cliffhanger Challenge at pbhiatus_fic. Somehow two drabbles came to mind for this. I hope at least one of them works! Any suggestions as to what happens after? lol
Title: One shot

Cold.
Impersonal.
Necessary.
The metal pieces fit together easily in his hands, a routine he no longer notices.
Adjusting himself behind the shotgun, he looks through the lens until he finds what he's looking for. Borrows, Borrows Junior, Lugo, Scofield, Tancredi.
He doesn't see what they are doing, or even who they are. Brother, father, son, girlfriend. Family. Such words stopped existing for him long ago. Only one word matters now.
Target.
His focus narrows as he angles his aim. Only the sound of the bullet whistling through the air gives away his next move.
Then someone screams.
Mission over.

It always came down to choices.
And he was tired. So tired.
Michael closed his eyes. His hand tightened around Sara's ring, resting safely in his palm. The metal enclosed in his other hand was no longer cold, and he realized he'd been clinging to Lincoln's pocket knife all this time.
It was all they had left when they'd taken them from him. Again.
Two objects belonging to the two people he cared for the most.
And a note. With a choice to make. His brother or the woman he loved.
His heart ached. His soul ached.
And he chose.
