Ah...hmm.

[There's a long pause while Castiel tries to decide the best way to ask this.]

Why do people put so much importance in...physical relations?

[Oops, don't mind Cyrus. He's just reclined on the bed, snickering at Castiel's question.]

[Cyrus sits up and casts his gaze in the general direction of Castiel. He's still grinning.]

You remind me of someone I know. Except nothing ever seemed to faze him. He did ask this question a million times, though. Never understood.

[Castiel is sulking in your general direction, Cyrus.]

Generally most things don't faze me. But that changed after being around humans for a while.

Well, I am definitely a lot more...emotional than I used to be.

Hmm. Think that's something you learned by habit, or more like... I don't know, something you tried to force down that got released later?

[This some psychological shit he's delving into.]

I suppose so. Angels tend to not be very emotional, though we are obviously capable of them.

Mmm.

[Cyrus would pat Castiel on the shoulder, but for all he knows, Cas is halfway across the room.]

How long you been alive, Castiel?

[Castiel's actually not that far, but the shoulder patting would have been awkward anyway.]

Hmm. After I while I stopped keeping track. Several millenia, at least.

[Oh, Castiel.

Cyrus lets out a low whistle.]

Daaamn, and I thought elves were long-lived. That's something else.

Angels don't age or get sick, so we can live forever if we are not fatally wounded.

[Castiel's eyes trail over to look at Cyrus' ears before looking at his face again.]

How long do elves generally live?

Depends. If injury or disease doesn't get you, an elf could live to... eighty? Maybe ninety. I've never seen a human older than forty, though. They age fast.

...Hmm. That is odd, many humans in my world can live to be almost ninety years old. But humans have very advanced medical techniques to help themselves live longer.

Like what? Like anything they have here?

[He's heard about AMU. Still hasn't been to see him/her/it, though.]

I'm not sure how advanced the medicine on the ship is.

Mm. Neither am I, but taking in everything else that's odd here, I'm figuring it's different from what we have back home.
