To answer your question, years ago when I wrote the original version of this story, I posted it on FFN. Their user guidelines prevent you from posting the same story twice, so I can't post the new one. The original story is part of a collection under a group profile, and I don't have access to the group login and thus can't remove the original. I'm a little hesitant to give out the name of the group mainly because I'm a little embarrassed by how shabby the original posting is. I try to excuse myself by saying that it was in the early days of my involvement in the LotR fandom and that it was written to a deadline, but excuses only take me so far. If someone really wanted to find it, they could probably run a search for it and look it up, but I try not to. It makes me shudder. :)
Anyway, for what it's worth, that's the explanation.
Okay, that makes sense. Just thought it odd that you skipped FFN this time around. I wanted to add it to my C2. *sniff*
Oh, and about the Thranduil thing at SoA: no insult taken! Just clarifying! I love to see different people's interpretations of the Elvenking. Lamiel's ROCKS! Yours is excellent too! But I think Jael's takes the cake. :p
Ooo, Lamiel and Jael are good choices in the Thranduil Characterization bracket. But I'm going to have to add Avon to the list for the story "To Sing of War," and of course I must also include my own personal favorite: Marnie. Insofar as I can tell, she's only got two stories in which Thranduil appears, but she still gets my vote because, in my mind, she is the champion of all things Sindarin (particularly Celeborn). In writing Thranduil, I take some of my cues from her Oropher, and when Thranduil does appear in her stories, he's intense.
