So we went to the pet store, bought the tank, and looked at some fish to decide what we wanted. We looked at the iridescent sharks and fell in love with their look. So, which idiot pet store is selling these fish and telling folks "3 inches"?

I am so sorry about your three sharks, they sound as if they were lovely.

Thanks Cyn, they were lovely and had a lot of personality for fish. They will be missed. And the idiot store is actually not one of the big chains (although I think I saw some there also, but labeled as 12" so that's actually a lot closer to what they will be for most people) but rather a small local chain who clearly needs to do better training.

Needless to say, we never shopped there again when we learned the truth about our poor fish.

Oh that's sad. :( Glad that they didn't suffer too much in the end though.

I love the names you gave them... I am sorry they are no longer with you in this plane of existence and hope they have all the room in the world where they now swim.

OK I gotta say a 900 gallon tank! WOW now that is big! Grrr to the pet store..

I had a pet fish that I really got attached to and when my ex murdered him, it was just too much. He was a 25 cent feeder fish from walmart that turned out to be a silver koi. I named him Moby Dick He quickly grew out of the 1.5 gallon tank!! He was 15 inches when he died.

I can just see a 900 gallon shark tank...their little fins coming out of the water - and the theme song from JAWS...They are in Shark Afterlife swimming free.

Moby Dick sounds like a great fish! I'm sorry that your ex did that, it's just horrible.
