So tonight I learned that my body apparently has a built-in defense mechanism for road fatigue. If I am falling asleep at the wheel, I will get off the interstate at the first available exit. This confuses me and wakes me up. Mind, I hope never to activate this function again, but I'm pleased that I seem to have it.

That's pretty awesome.
I fell asleep driving.... once.
Here we have those strips along the road which emit a high pitched noise when the tyres roll over them. Probably saved me from ending up in a ditch.

It's amazing what a five-minute rest stop can do too.

I used to drive 125 miles each way to Judo practice 2x a week. One of those days was on Monday night. I got to the point where I would start to drive home & not remember a thing till I was suddenly in my driveway. I swear to this day that I was driving while asleep. Scares me now!
