Orton Effect

I've been mesmerised by Lynne's work with the Orton effect lately... Tried it on infrared pictures to see what happens and the answer is not much :) Next I thought to try it on some small DOF portrait type pictures and here is the result:

the effect seems slightly similar the 'diffuse glow' option in ps although this orton is softer and more dreamy. is it a plug in on ps or a different program? i like it overall, but on bella 2 i prefer the original because of the sharpness in her eye.

never tried diffuse glow; i should give it a shot :) I think that higher contrast originals help... i like the softer look and the warmer skin tones in the portraits. Will play with it more :)
