personally, i felt that what he posted, his actions, was about exactly the same as what the "accused" did. but everyone is entitled to how they handle it. i confess i also think that it's too much drama over something that is pretty minor and petty. someone is bound to hate you for no reason, and if one stranger can cause so much distress, that person can't possibly cope with reality or people at large.
