Hey everybody, since it's really, really hot, I think we should all play a game to help us feel cooler!

Think of something nice and cold, and then draw it! Like this:

Yeah, it's not so bad. Of course, igloos don't have air conditioning. But then, I guess you really don't need air conditioning in an igloo... unless maybe you could put one on full blast to make sure the igloo doesn't melt in the summer.

But where would it get its power from? Don't our air conditioning systems run on some kind of energy?

Well, electricity. I guess it's a work in progress.

I guess.

I think my teacher once told me that an igloo actually helps keep you warm even though it's made of snow. That's really neat!

[markofthewise]

Yeah. The snow acts an insulator, keeping the heat inside the igloo. It can get fairly warm inside. Of course, you'll still want to dress warmly inside, but it's a lot better than being outside.

And it'd protect you from the wind, too, right? So I guess an igloo wouldn't be a bad place to be if you lived in a cold area!

That's pretty much how they worked, yeah.

You know, that's really smart. I wonder who came up with the idea to make them?

Uh. My ancestors, I guess. Thousands of years ago.

They must have been very smart, then. Who would think to use snow to keep warm? It's really creative!

[markofthewise]

Well it was the only building material in the South Pole.

[throwshammers]

So I guess they had to think of something to do with it, then...

[markofthewise]

Were you here in December? I made a really big snow fort near the village! It didn't last long. [He kind of tore down a wall on someone.]

Oh, I didn't see it! I'm sorry! I'm sure it was really neat!

Oh well. That's too bad. [Maybe next time? Sokka doesn't want to think about being here that long.]
