Interesting Concept, But It Doesn't Really Work That Way

Last night Bea was trying to get Brixton to pee before bedtime so as to avoid any middle of the night bathroom trips or accidents, and he sat on the potty and only a little bit came out.

Bea said "That's all? You don't have any more?"

"No," he replied, gesturing to his weenie, "Maybe you should take it apart and put more pee in it."

A friend of ours said his little boy did that too. What they did was put him in sweat pants and didn't change him when he wet the pants. They only did it once because apparently it was so uncomfortable, little Noah stopped wetting his pants from then on. :)

My first son took until 3 1/2 to be fully trained and my second son who will be 3 in August refuses to pee in the potty. He'll sit on it sometimes, but he won't pee in it. He flat out tells me he doesn't like the potty. >_< I would like to know what works in only a week.

Well he never usually peed during the night, it would be right she he woke up. So she would take him right from the bed directly to the potty, and she would sit there and read him books until he went. Then in an hour and a half, she'd put him back on it and read books (with a few potty books thrown in) to him until he went-sometimes for two hours. This was fine with him because he loves having books read to him. After a week of this and not leaving the house with him for more than 30 min at a time, when he had to go he'd say "PEEPEE ON POTTY! PEEPEE ON POTTY!" and run over to it and wait to have his pants pulled down.

My son is 18 months, and although, we put him on the potty every night before bedtime, he's only successful maybe 3 days a week. One time, he pooped, and we were ecstatic, but he hasn't repeated that feat. Did Bea read any potty training books? Anything she suggests?

Oh my god, you're back!! Man, I just realised I have been reading your LJ for about 10 years now, I actually stumbled across that video of you and Bea with weezers 'best friend' as the soundtrack and thought I'd come see if you'd updated. And you had! Wow ... keep it up bro. BL.
