This was the first week I had Timlin in my fantasy league. And my last. I am very sorry, very sorry. :(

You know, I love PD James and rank one of her books as one of my top ten favorites, but I've never read Children Of Men since I so love her murder mysteries. So post if the book pick up? I trust your reviews.

I loved Children of Men and oddly cannot recall why I loved it. P.D. James writing is always sharp and engaging and all that atmosphere... but yeah... I did love it. I just have no idea why.

i don't know if my review will be all that helpful -- i'm interested in the story, but there's something that lags for me about the writing style. if this is her usual writing style, i would recommend it. if this was some kind of stylistic departure, it's just not working for me. eh?

Beautiful icon.

That makes sense - the reviews of the book weren't amazing, iirc, when it came out which is why I've always hesitated to buy it. She has a very slow style, honestly, but it really works for her mysteries.

i have to say, honestly, that as a die-hard a's fan, i cheered every single time they brought timlin into the game. i mean, the yankee's bullpen is worse, but they have so many freakin' people to hate, so when you can focus all your hatred on timlin, and possibly tim wakefield because we can just NOT hit off of him, it's something ( ... )

1. i love mike timlin.
2. i love knbr.
3. i was raised a giants fan.

also, san francisco teams aren't even allowed to move to san jose (see the 49ers in the mid-ninties) so i don't think it's personal.

I read your whole entry and came away thinking that charming problems of urban people is my new favourite phrase.
Sorry.

it's one of my favorites as well. i find it best describes the important city living problems such as "do i have enough new music to listen to on my mass transit commute?" and "do they know me to well at my office neighborhood starbucks" etcet.

vaguely warming to "sexyback,"

Yeah, my coworker and I keep giving each other annoyed updates on how said process is occurring for each of us. SIGH.
