New fic: "A Diffident Confidence", Lee/Andrei

Jan 27, 2010 20:01

My first posted fic in '10 is in the Slave Breakers fandom. Many of you on my flist haven't read this original fiction series, but I highly recommend it. I found myself occupied by a plot bunny suggested by kata_ny over in slavebreakers where this is crossposted: i'd love to read about Andrei being hurt/ill and Lee caring for him.

Yay for Lee's dreams and his letter to Bran! What a long way he's come, even though he's staying "home"!

Thank you so very much! I really enjoy writing about Lee coming into his own once he's free. I appreciate your reading and commenting, especially since there aren't many of us who write in Mac's world. She's generous to allow it!

Even without the background, I always love these stories of yours.

Another lovely story! I like these characters even though I don't know their complete story. I've just got to read the whole series sometime. Thanks for another wonderful glimpse into their world! <3

Thank you, dear! I do highly recommend the whole series, though it will take you some time. It truly is her magnum opus. ;) Thanks for reading my take on it! I'll be working on a sequel to this particular vignette over the weekend.

I love the comfort/care between Lee and Andrei. Nice ending. Especially loved the aubergine colored cloak - where did you get that idea? And Lee bouncing down the stairs. I can so see Lee bouncing.
Hugs,

You are so kind to read and comment on this! As for the cloak, I figured that as a nobleman, he would own one and that would be easier for him to get in and out of than something with sleeves. I love the word (and color!) aubergine. I wish I had an aubergine cloak, lol. So glad that Lee bouncing down the stairs worked for you. Mac has written something after the slaves have been freed but before Mona's gone off to do with Lee and Jer's relationship that I'll incorporate into the sequel to this. I'm going to hang out for a while at the library and a coffee shop tomorrow where it's warm and I don't have to feel awkward. :P I'll be writing and reading most of the day!

Oh, well I'm so glad you did! I'm writing a sequel of sorts now and it's just flowing and has gone in a totally different direction than I'd thought. I love it when the characters surprise me like that. ;) Thanks for reading and I'm glad that you enjoyed it!
