Fic: This Submerged Sense of Wonder, Ron/Harry

Aug 28, 2007 21:31

At the end of July, my dear friend Callum James wrote me this in an email as a fic prompt/idea:
... is to write five linked drabbles of no more than 250 words each charting the developing relationship between Harry and Ron. The drabbles should be titled, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 refering to the ages of the characters in each drabble. At least two of ( Read more... )

Melancholy, but very sweet nonetheless. Thanks.

You're so welcome! I promise to you before this calendar year is out that I'll have your very sweet, non-melancholy Harry/Neville fic for you with the prompt I'm sure you've long forgotten about. But I haven't!! And it's started; that's key for it being finished. ;)

Hope you're coping these days; you've been on my mind.

Ah... very enjoyable, I'd even say restful, despite the fact that the mood of each piece was distinctly UN-restful. Lovely depiction of the ups and downs of their relationship.

What an interesting description! I guess I see numbers 1 and 3 as pretty restful, but yes, it's not really a plot-driven set of vignettes. Glad you enjoyed the set.

Heaven.

And circle of life-ish.

And just wonderful.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed! I definitely share this sentiment I just found of Anaïs Nin's- "I write emotional algebra." It's how relationships ebb and flow that gets me going in regards to writing fanfic.

Thank you for reading and commenting.

It was like getting out the bread for toast, and noticing that it was pretty stale, but making toast anyway.

that is such a great line i had to read it like 10 times.

lovely atmosphere here. realistic and layered relationship. and i like 'submerged' in this context. because it did have a sort of muted feeling to it almost like listening under water.

lovely work.

I can't tell you how pleased I am that you enjoyed that line!! I'll admit to feeling rather inspired about it, myself- it was the perfect analogy for how a person can feel when you've been in a relationship for a long time, but there's no drama going on... I'm glad it worked for you.

Many thanks for your generous comments. The title did go pretty seamlessly with the themes of currents of time and the scenes themselves being muted, sortof. ;)

I loved it, Thev. You always manage to make Ron so dreamy. He's such an amazing Ron for me, you always seem to capture him the way he's meant to be. I loved it, I think you're slowly turning me into a Ron/Harry shipper. . .though you know Ron/Draco will always be home to me. Loved every moment as if I had any doubt I wouldn't.

MWAH!

Thank you so much, sweetie!! As long as I keep Ron human and fallible, I figure it's okay to make him rather like my dream man. ;) You needn't be a Ron/Harry shipper, you just love Ron! R/D is a very loving home for both of us. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed this. ::kisses::
