Did it seriously come out today? I wasn't paying attention to release dates, and just happened to be in a bookstore today because I was buying shoes next door. And there it was! So now I am happily reading a book I wasn't expecting to come out until later this month. This is basically the best day ever.
OH I AGREE COMPLETELY! You know how easy it is to choose a favorite narrator? Well, I CANT CHOOSE! I mean, there's Adamo being all wonderfully mother-hen and trying to act tough and then there's sweet little Balfour who I just want to CUDDLE and LOVE and all that, damn his hands, and then there's Toverre who is just so wonderfully gay that I just can't help but love him and some fo his quirks remind me of one of my own characters and then there's Laure who kinda reminds me of my mom, but doesn't, but she's still fucking AWESOME!
these writers are so wonderful for bringing back all my favourite characters - YES.
Also, hello dear :)
I got terribly worried that Hal might possibly start something with Toverre because that would ruin the ending of Etienne, before I realised how ridiculous I was being because he and Royston have TRUE LOVE
Also, I simply cannot deal with the amount of Royston/Hal that was in this book. They're just in the background quietly being adorable while everyone else is going around doing plotty things and lksd;fjdfkls; my love for them has been renewed.
It is amazing, especially towards the end, when the plot really gets going. Mostly I was just so so so so happy to see Hal. *waits patiently for more people to have read it so that Intense Discussions can take place*
I was IN A LECTURE while I was reading that first scene where Hal introduces himself to the class and Toverre swoons. I literally had to clap my hands over my mouth to prevent myself from squeeing out loud in the middle of the lecture theatre. I JUST LOVE HIM SO MUCH.
