barring unexpected things like scientists creating a black hole in a super particle collider

Such an event would have a tiny spacial extent and a tiny lifetime. It would have no impact on you whatsoever, I promise. Many of us are actually hoping for just such an occurrence, as it would lend some credence to currently untested areas of theoretical physics.

I know. XD I did recently catch a blurb somewhere online mentioning that a group of scientists/physicists did indeed create a extremely short-lived field that was either a micro black hole or something with properties similar to.

Speaking of this kind of super particle collider subject, what do you think of the theory that someone could inavertedly create a new type of matter that might consume everything else in an attempt to stabilize itself or the environment around it?

I have never seen a single convincing argument for such a hypothesis.

Same here. I figured long ago that the Universe itself can be seen as one ridiculously big particle collider; if such an occurence was possible it would have occured somewhere in the last 15 Billion years, eh?

As interesting as Physics is to me, I wish I had the mathematical and analytical skills that are required. :( Just as well, I'd prefer that highly skilled people such as you are at the helm anyways.

Dankyuu. I don't think I'll ever change it, too much attachment to Monkey Island. :D
