Whirlwind

It's been a really whirlwind month; I can't broach even half of it.  Like climbing a steep mountain with intermittent bursts of surfing.  I do love the surfing.

I am very grateful for a few things as of late:

"Moral" was a great poem. It was so powerful and painful. I remember really liking it when the issue came out.

It was interesting to look at the discussion on Tor! I think some people come to poetry with a lot of baggage.

It was very bizarre reading the discussion on Tor. I was like: Professor El-Mohtar has chosen my poem to discuss in class! Whoah. People found layers I never thought of - the Biblical symbolism especially, which is now part of my rethinking of the work.

On this side of the screen, there was also some eyebrow raising. I remember poetry classes, and can now better understand the poet's bafflement and odd-woman-out syndrome in society. "What does she mean by that?". Sometimes, a ram is just a ram.
