I yearn to travel. Super N and I watched a travel blurb on Peru and he suggested we go. I was really excited about the blurb and agreed right away. It's not do-able right now, but one day in the future I believe Super N and I will be tromping around the world. Unless he gets hormones, grows up and finds others to travel with. Then I'll be tromping ( Read more... )

Yes, Thin Mint cookies = kryptonite. I wonder if Miss E will want to be a Girl Scout?

I am impressed at your kitchen chops. I am still at the stage where I can feed myself, but still too much of it comes out of boxes and bags from Trader Joe's. :-)

Good luck with the race training, but I'm totally eyerolling about you worrying about how your butt looks. You're a freaking *runner*. You have a great butt. Shut up. :-)

What do you do for sore muscles? I'm attempting to get fit again so I can dance more and my calves are killing me.

I wish I had the extra hour a day to get the kids into organized sports or Scouts. So I work a little harder to make sure the weekend is more than cartoons and luandry. Lol.

My kitchen chops look a lot like free fall out of a plane. Some planning, some prep, a dash of luck and then just cross my toes that I stick the landing.

I stretch after I warm up and when I'm done working out. For calves, if you stand on a step facing the "up" direction, so that the ball of your feet is on the edge and then gently lower your heals towards the next step down. slowly... no bouncing. Andrew will probalby have more ideas.

I was thinking of you yesterday! I will keep you in mind.

So far, so good. Miss E has a yarn suspended between 2 jars full of baking-soda saturated water. We expect to see a crystal grow from the low point of the yarn over the next few weeks. Not quite the instant gratification we were looking for, but.. we shall see. I am pretty impatient.. I keep walking by looking for drips. I got really excited last night when I saw one.

I wussed out on Super N's project and bought a kit. But before beginning it we had to tackle the concept of density, so I set up a series of bowls and filled them with different amounts of Skittles and then we played with a food scale. Then we hunted through the house for objects about the same size, but having different densities/weights. (And then the kids ate the Skittles). Yay! Science tastes good!

Next weekend we crack open his kit.

cool!

FYI - faster crystals form with sugar (usually) as long as you have a super saturated solution...

science with food is the best way to get the interest going, good job!
