crossing the border made me want to write an au where erik, early twenties, buys his freedom from a concentration camp if he hunts down and kills mutant freedom-fighter "charles xavier", who he doesn't know

randomly i ... i want a war!AU for these boys. 8(a where both of them are soldiers and stuff, maybe from diff camps. not sure how things will go yet, and i can't really think much, i'm too braindead from uni. but that's the gist of it ............

i'm sure we can work imprinting to this AU somehow .............

charles is a mutant captive on the axis side and erik is assigned to guard him or somethinggg and he's not telling anyone he's a mutant bc he has a !secret agenda to kill service leader / dienstleiter shaw who has infiltrated the military in the attempts to use it for his own purposes while erik just wants to shove a coin in his head?????? 8|a

charles keeps an eye on erik via psylink because even though he's a good useful geneticist under house arrest (like in grey zone or something) erik has awful nightmares that bleed in his sleep and erik is mad that charles is a telepath.
