i miss borough halli miss walking to marquet patisserie for morning coffee and dawdling, strolling down court and clinton, meandering around livingston at about 8:10am on weekdays. it just dawned on me today when i saw some subway statistics map on gothamist, something about how there are 30,000 riders per day at borough hall. the hot, steamy ( Read more... )

Brooklyn misses you too! Not that I would know, but I can imagine...

Marquet gave my brother and sister their first jobs in New York (the Union Square one, actually, but it's the same owner). That place is great.

It's defintitely hard to leave behind. I still get tears in my eyes when I see New York on tv, which is alot!

yes, only recently did i realize that nyc is in the majority of tv shows, and lots of movies too! it was comforting to see park slope in "the squid and the whale."

now you all know how i feel, too. no place is like new york...especially brooklyn. nyc is a very special place with a soul that is unmatched. i can't stand walking down streets of grey, industrial buildings in london; i like that in new york.

i've somehow gotten used to portland's tiny "downtown." i will be overwhelmed whenever i return to the corridors of midtown manhattan.
