I have seen a lot of confusion and contention regarding my earlier post to the network.
Let me assure you, fellow citizens, that what I am suggesting is nothing to show such concern about.
As the Chief of Police, even I have yet to meet any of the 'governing officials' in control of our lives here. How can we allow ourselves to follow a people who so

You have no proof that we are not fictional, only our belief that we're not. You have a way with working with people's emotions, and you're very good with words. I know a few other choice people who came up with such a plan that did not give the same result as they promised.
Instead, I believe we should question your integrity, Chief.

I am not certain how, exactly, you believe that your beliefs are any more or less logical than my own. Only that I have been here for quite a long time now, and have seen that the majority of those trapped here feel the same.
Yes. There is no proof that we are fictional, any more than there is that we are real. But we are each very real to ourselves and those from the same worlds as us, as well. I see no point in believing otherwise.
Self Doubt is the first step on the road to submission. I have no desire to live a life plotted out for me by someone else. Especially not someone who I have neither met nor seen in all my time on this island. Nor do I have any desire to believe in a government who believes so little in us that they were willing to step aside and abandon us to our imminent demise.

Your life will always be plotted by someone else. Whether you believe in gods, humans, or fate. You will be caught within it.
Words are merely words. Your idea of "self doubt" is what I would call healthy skepticism, which is worth a million blind words. I am as skeptical of this government as I am of you. If you decide to follow through with your plan, then get used to it. I will be watching every move you make, Chief. Though if your intentions are true, remain true, and do not come with unforeseen consequence, you will see little of me.

I have seen nations, worlds, even galaxies fall. I have lived through the rise and fall of societies and races alike.
Fear of new entrapment should not halt the search for a better situation. Yes, there will always be new challenges, new perils and problems to face.
Would you suggest people just sit by and do nothing?
Taking the defeatist view, the stance of inaction, is only ensuring that nothing will ever change.

Where do you want to meet?
I'd appreciate it if you left the laser at home.

Oh, boring. Fine. I'll leave my fancy toys at home if you leave yours. If youactually have any, that is.
What is the standard for these sort of things? A Restaurant? A coffee shop? Yes. That sounds human.
Tonight, the coffee shop. I'll be a good date. Keep my hands to myself and you can flatter me with your newly researched vocabulary.

[The little girl's voice sounds bemused.]
The clan leader does not protect the people here? They do not abide by the duties of hospitality?
Then why are people upset by the idea of a new leader? If the current one is too harsh a ruler, it is within the people's rights to remove them and set up a king more suitable to lead.

It is an unfortunate, but natural, human instinct to fear the unknown.

No one likes change. But suffer such things long enough and they'll want to change. They just don't see it yet!
