Those brushed stainless steel and aluminum glasses are EPIC timeless. We only used plastic glasses in our house until my sister and I were in our teens. Sad. Moreover, we only had plastic Christmas ornaments due to someone gang tackling the tree in 1963 and again in 1964 just to make sure there were no breakables left alive. Ah- the good years..
I remember telling my mother how cool was the sound that it made when you cut something on the neighbors' Melmac plates, and couldn't we have something like that! (They were allowed to eat Wonder Bread, too!)
I have plates like that now, but since I'm a fag, only in my vintage Heller Massimo Vignelli design unbreakable picnic set.
My grandmother had some aluminum glasses that she would serve iced tea (unsweet), or since one boiled the water in LA, the water she kept iced in the Frigidaire. I remember how the water would condense on them on a hot day.
