Well. Locke looks all right. Mostly. Other than the massive purple bruise around his neck. And the fact that he's not really moving very much. As in, totally unconscious.
Something like that bruise and the unconciousness is not what Valen was expecting when he walked in the front door and he freezes a moment before rushing over. He reaches worriedly for the unconcious man, checking for more injuries, and gently shakes his shoulder to wake him up. "Locke? Locke?"
Valen stops ranting mentally when he hears the small sound and feels the shake, and looks at Locke. Then he gives up on all questioning for the moment and just pulls Locke into his arms. He'll worry about the rest later.
There's a moment where he holds back, trying to stay stuck together. But just a moment.
And then Locke is clinging to Valen and trying not to shake with wracking cries, determinedly making no sound. Ashamed, but he can't keep it back. It's been a very long couple days.
Valen pulls him close, wraps himself around Locke as best he can and just holds him tight. He says nothing, just occasionally kisses or nuzzles the top of Locke's head, letting him cry.
Yes, Valen is. He's not quite sure how yet, but dammit he will. Even if he's usually shite at that. "It's alright," he murmurs once, then just more hugs.

There's a shake. Because now that he's thinking about it, he can remember her looking at him with those eyes.
And then nothing, more or less.
