Okay, thingie thingie thing thing!

QPR's still managing to keep above relegation by some miracle - no really, some miracle, we just beat Tottenham. The problem is there's way more Tottenham supporters at work than QPR (it's pretty much me, really) so this morning was just awkward.

I'd tag this [/winningteamproblems] but you're trying to get to the Stanley Cup and we're trying to avoid getting busted down to the Championship so . . . yeah.

Yay! Sorry, sorry, sorry for blowing you off on g-chat, I really should just go invisible so I don't hurt people's feelings, but it's the only way I can talk with my brother in Los Angeles and my friend simultaneously in chat, so we can all scream and moan and cheer together. It's our bonding thing.

HOLY SHIT, YOU BEAT TOTTENHAM, THAT'S AMAZING! I HOPE THEIR TEARS WERE DELICIOUS!

We're trying to get out of the first round of playoffs, and there's three more rounds to go, so... yeah. We've only ever gotten to the finals once, and we got swept once we were there.

BUT ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, PITTSBURGH, SAN JOSE, VANCOUVER, AND DETROIT ARE ALL OUT BEFORE US, SO HA. (Everyone in the media was positing a Pitt-Van final this year. This is oddly delightful to see them both go out ignominiously in the first round.)

Child, ignore my flailing. You're just my designated flailing friend, feel free to let it wash over you like white noise.

Best of best fortunes tonight, m'dear.

I LIKE HAVING A FLAILING FRIEND WHO DOESN'T MIND ME FLAILING BACK AT THEM.

(Remember our weird goalie succession thing I told you about at the beginning of the year? The one that reminded you of European royal families? Our third string baby goalie has usurped both of our regular starting goalies. Double usurpation in one year!)

Thank you. I... don't know how I'll be tomorrow. Let's hope happy.

My playoff "beard" is scratchy. I dunno how girls who do this regularly cope with this. It's good for, like, three or four days, and then things start getting weird.

Girl....

I want to know, but I also really, really don't.

Or do I? No, no, definitely not. :-\

DIFFERENT NOTE:
LOVELY SONG SELECTION.

*Awkward cough*

Yeah, I went over this an entry or so back, and let me tell you, it has been an experience.

IN THINGS NOT RELATED TO MY TMI, I AM GLAD YOU LIKE THE SONGS.

...I SAID I DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW. But you have confirmed my suspicions, not only about your ladybits (which, why do I even *have* suspicions about your ladybits? That should not be happening when I haven't even seen your face. ...unless I am your waxer, but. I'm not Jennifer!) but also about full-on Brazilians. Which. Yeah, I get the bucket list thing. It's something I think I should get around to doing at some point. It's also something I think will be deeply unpleasant, both during and in the growing-in aftermath. ::makes an awkward face::

YES, YES. PARTICULARLY THE HIMYM ONE. THAT SHOW ALWAYS SURPRISES ME WHEN THEY HAVE A GOOD SONG ON. I THINK IT'S BECAUSE THEY SUCK AT LAYERING THE SOUND AND THE VOICES.

I LIKE EVERYONE KNOWING ABOUT MY SHAMEFUL MISADVENTURES. It really isn't that bad. So far, the aftermath isn't unpleasant, it's just kind of scratch and odd looking to me, who is seeing this for the first time. But like I said, I'd take it over the dentist. Having done it once, I feel kind of unlikely to do it regularly, but I wouldn't rule out doing it again some day in the future. (Hell, if my team gets to the finals, I'll do it every goddamn month. NO SHAME.)

I know! I really like that show, even if it's gone downhill. But then again, I am probably projecting my fondness for NPH and Jason Segal and Alyson Hannigan onto it.

These are my exact feelings about the Caps and the series! How will I survive wednesday?! I wanted to punch someone after that Seguin goal, I swear.

I'm so happy though that Holtby is so awesome :D He and Neuvy will make a great tandem in DC next season. I think it goes without saying that they'll dump Vokoun. And I'm hoping that the core of the team is staying put as well. Yes, that includes Sasha :)

I have no idea, but I imagine copious amounts of alcohol will play a key role in getting me through it.

Oh, I don't think any of us thought Vokoun would stay. It was a great mutual arrangement in theory-- he gets a a chance on a decent team (sigh) to make a stab for the cup and showcase his abilities in time to make a stab for his last big contract somewhere else; we take on a fantastic low contract and possibly get a great year of goal tending. It was win-win for both sides, but especially us. Some other team with goalie issues will throw his last big contract to him this summer, and we'll both part ways. Sad, because he's a great goalie and this year's luck with injuries for both our team and him just sucked, but it is what it is.

Oh God, I don't want Sasha to leave. I have already steeled myself to the fact Knuble and Halpern are probably gone. That makes me sad like you wouldn't believe.

Howard County refuses your bag tax! Also, lugging large amounts of liquor around shows responsibility because buying in bulk is always cheaper, right? At least, that's what I told myself in college.

I know! I was just going to get the regular bottle of vodka, but the clerk talked me into the jug with a series of mathematical equations, proving that I was getting way more booze for just two dollars more. ("You, um, don't need to try so hard, I'm willing to buy it," I told him. "Yeah, but I don't get to show off my math very often," he said in reply.)

I SAW! Yeah, I spent like an hour slumped on my couch after the game, stress-eating Doritos and muttering to myself. Fuck you, Seguin. Fuck you.

Oh, that reminds me, the last game I was at (the Florida one at end of season), I was two rows away from Ovi's dad! I have, like, five shaky cell phone pics my brother took of trying to get us both in the picture without bothering him. I was way too intimidated to go up and say hi, but it was really fun to see him cheer. (And Ovis scored that game, aww.) JEALOUS YOU GOT TO SEE THE OVI GLASS LEAP. I screamed so loud in my house when that happened, I think I probably freaked the neighbors.

FUCK NARRATIVES AND STATS. WE CAN DO THIS. I have been super impressed with how the team has played series, to be honest; I know some people at the Rink think it's unsustainable and there's a lot we need to fix, but... I dunno, I just feel good about it.

KEEP HOPE ALIVE. LET'S GO CAPS. ROCK THE RED. STOP STEALING OUR SLOGANS, FLORIDA.
