My brother's wedding went off without too many screw ups, I've managed to trick Louise into living with me (or maybe the other way around), and through the constant application of cheap alcohol have managed to resign myself to paying the enormous fucking flood damage bill. All that's left is to move the rest of my possessions into the house, and

Heee hee, oh burn Elizabeth Moon. (Most of the time I work off the, "If I died tragically while showering and a parent, a work colleague, and a friend had to close all my tabs and my livejournal was open in one of them, would I die a second time from shame? If so, do not post it" principle. I don't know why all three of them would be closing my firefox tabs, but it works as a hypothetical situation.)
*HUG* You guys are awesome.

Also, isn't there a way for people with dreamwidth accounts to comment on LJ? I don't think that profits LJ, but it's a way to participate without actually having an LJ account. Not too sure about that.

Probably! I'm really not too concerned about it. I'll miss the people who don't choose to post here anymore, but I'll either check in with them on occasion or figure out a feed or something. I'm sort of refusing to dwell on it; there are other way more important things I can focus on.

Yeah, focusing on things that you don't really need to isn't healthy. People's concerns with LJ are legitimate, but you certainly aren't at risk because I've never seen you post personal information on your journal. So it's all good. (Sorta.)

Yeah. While there's certainly stuff I would be hard pressed to explain-- for example, uh, the whole Tom Daley thing up there-- and I'd probably be embarrassed if my mom read it, I do think that if there's something I don't want someone reading or knowing about, it's MY responsibility not to put it in a place where it can be accessed. Livejournal might be under a responsibility to secure it, but ultimately it comes down to ME to have the judgment on whether or not a thing is safe or proper to express outside my own head. So that's kinda where I stand on it.

…if so, I probably wouldn't get an answer from them since this pondering question is, in fact, posted on livejournal.

Heh. It's fun to address an invisible audience.

Although, I will not lie, I am completely delighted that you and Louise are back in the same state, let alone the same building. <3 (Seriously, you guys are like my real-life, platonic OTP. THAT IS NOT CREEPY, RIGHT?)
Also, geeeeeez, that book. I'm glad to hear your report on it, because I had been kind of curious myself but not enough to, uh, do anything about it. EXCELLENT.
Still undecided on what to do with LJ. I probably will not do anything yet, I still have a bunch of paid time given to me by the lovely Rissi (et al?) and, uh, I keep forgetting about my DW account.

IT IS TOTALLY NOT CREEPY, ESPECIALLY SINCE I WRITE SECRET FANFIC ABOUT YOU AND BACO ALL THE TIME. Like I told Twig on email today, sometimes I'm not convinced Louise and I haven't been common-law married for years now. If only we were actually attracted to each other, I'd be set. As it is, we'll settle for hetero lifemates. (Also, I do not write fanfic about you and Baco. Unless you want me to.)
Yeah, I only recommend it if you want a laugh. Though lately I've been tearing through all of Sarah Waters' work; you've probably read some of it already, but her latest was very good. No lesbians, but a nice, Gothic, spooky story.
I won't do anything. It's not just that I'm lazy, it's that I have way bigger things to flip my gourd over. Livejournal can't even compete.

On the LJ thing, the thing for me is that - while I don't care hugely, to be honest - since I barely post anywhere, it's not very difficult to barely post in one place rather than another place. And when one place is morally neutral and the other place is a contender in the "Stupid? Or Evil? World Championship!", I just end up meh-ing the other way. If that makes any sense.
I intend to continue reading Livejournal until you start writing nothing but me/George Carruthers.

It makes lots of sense. I'm just too lazy to even meh my way off the old site. And like I've said, I'm not entirely sold on Dreamwidth yet.But I applaud any and all meh-ing wherever you prefer to meh, as long as you feel happy with where you are.

You have clearly not been reading my special RPF livejournal. I had wondered why you hadn't given me feedback.
