There's an article in the New York Times about the Icelandic economy and how the outlook is bleak. I found the link to the article on an Icelandic forum, and there people most people weren't ready to accept that everything wasn't peachy here

Did you mean that Icelanders themselves (on the forum) didn't accept that things aren't peachy? Because, every now and then here in the U.S. we hear that the highest standard of living, longest life expectancies, etc. are in Iceland and Norway. So Iceland problems wouldn't be well known here, either.
