Real life sucks...

I am trying to decide if I am going to quit my job - or at least start looking for something else. I feel absolutely horrible even contemplating it, because I have only been at this job a little over six months. Supposedly I will be much busier than I have been in March and April, but I will believe it when I see it ( Read more... )

Maybe give it a few more months, say until you've been there a year and see how you feel then. If you don't know what you want to do atm, and you don't want to move perhaps it's best to stay put until you've figured it out, no matter how frustrating it might be in the short term.

I've been a little that way. Not sure what to do for the best and thinking that whatever I want, it isn't what I'm doing or where I'm living now. I've decided to stay put for a few more months at least to let myself settle and figure out the best options. I'm not saying it's the right thing for you to do, but I think it's worth considering before you jump into anything new. I wish you luck :)

It's hard when you might have to make a job change, sometimes thinking about it is more stressful that having to do it. Good luck, I hope it all works out for you.

Hey there, and welcome to Texas.;-)

For what it's worth, I'd try to stick it out for a year. If nothing else, it looks better on the ol' resume. Unless it's absolutely killing you, you could consider using the next six months as time to spend researching what you might want to do and seeing if you can find out if you can do it there (but then, I love Austin, wish I could live there). It might make the decision easier if you consider doing it from the position of having a 'crap' job that pays the bills while you think.

Whatever you decide, good luck. And yeah, as someone else said, the stress of thinking about it is sometimes worse than the actual event.
