Why does it ask for a subject when you're just going to rant

Since my current job gives me plenty of time to do it, I've been doing allot of thinking lately, which can be a bad thing for me, once my mind starts going, I have a hard time stopping it until I run out of things to think about, then some idiot cuts me off in a car and my mind starts going again.
