It must be said, this quaint tradition of celebrating the 1st day of April is a somewhat new development in cultural practices. I suppose that my invitation must have been, as the hum...Americans say, misplaced within the hard copy long-distance communication system.

It is just as well. I have been rather occupied as of late. I have learned of the...American custom of preparing sustenance oneself, so in a effort to better understand their culture I have been "sunlighting" as the food preparation technician at the High Council Board of the Asgardian Security Inc. for the past two weeks.

Yes I have to agree with the... person... above. My invitation must have been misplaced as well. Or was I simply not invited? If that is the case I will be quite upset. I have been working on my social skills and I think I am getting better at being nice to people.

My apologies esteemed Tok'ra. It seems I have been remiss in organizing my friends list. I simply went off as a 'reminder' list on who to invite. As I have been, 'out of town' recently on a business trip, (I promised myself I would not comment regarding the refreshments during the flight, but yet again I am reduced to eat Sunset PINK SUSTENANCE! ::ahem:: ::narrows eyes at the suspected perpetrator of such an outrage) I have not been up to date with all those joining this interesting phenomena.

I am sure if you check your mail, you will find an invitation. ::quickly sends off an invitation express transit::, I must say, the Nox (TM) express mail service is exceedingly reliable. It should reach you unlike the last one relying upon my company mail. Perhaps we have a few moonlighters in that division as well who are meant to be in *OTHER* departments. ::pointed look at asgard_heimdall::

My apologies again, I shall make sure there is a place set for you. The more the merrier.

Sounds like fun. Can we make it a potluck?

This sounds like an intriguing idea, may I ask you to elaborate on the nature of a 'potluck'. It seems that regional differences are again playing havoc with my understanding of my friends.

Each person brings a dish. Usually it's coordinated so that all the courses are covered and you don't wind up with seventeen desserts. It provides variety and keeps one person from having to make everything.

{blinks} Carter?

I will be barraged with O'Neill's complaints that he was not invited

Uh, yeah! Thor? I'm hurt I wasn't your first choice.

and even though the level of his boredom can be predicted

Bored? Me? Never. Sitting around talking about...uh...time warps? Sounds like a party to me!

Please RSVP through the comment feature of this communications interface (LJ) and let me know if you can participate.

Wouldn't miss it for the world.

"Time flies," sir. And Thor, I think the colonel's perspective would contribute a lot to the discussion too.

Got it. Thanks.

Yeah, about that. Thor? Are you sure I can't bring any games? Scattergories? Cards? Twister?

We are honored at the invitation, and will be there. I have been sampling local delicacies and will be able to bring salsa and something called Rockie Mountain oysters.

If Oma will untie the apron strings and allow you to join us...

Excuse me, Thor, but I resemble that remark.

And Oma does not have me tied to her apron strings!

*struggles to untie the apron*

*whines* Can someone get this pink thing off me?

(And no comments from the peanut gallery, please! Just because Jonas looks better in pink aprons than I do! He's got the arms for it!)
