(( Open to Star ))

He'd thought Star would have more trouble with commercial flights, at the very least because it's his first flight and airport customs are always so ridiculous. Star's been remarkably easygoing about it, something quite fortunate. They have first class seats (Tom's decided he doesn't want to put up with the obnoxious nature of coach, and well, it's ( Read more... )

Star shrugs to Tom's question. Aisle and he can keep Tom safe and the rest of the passengers safe from him is need be. Window, and he wasn't have to deal with constantly beng startled by people walking past him.

"It is more logical for me to take the aisle. I am restless, it would be an inconvenience for you to have to move to let me through."

"Fine with me, though I doubt the stewardess will take nicely to you deciding to walk around throughout the flight. Then again, they're finicky like that." Once again he's thankful he's all human again, not subject to unwanted stares from other passengers. Between his infection and Cain's size, plane-trips had done a serious toll on one's nerves. He takes the seat, noting with pleasure that it reclines. They're in for a fairly long flight.

People do stare at Star as he goes past. He's used to it. Between his height, his shocking red hair and his physique, there aren't a lot of places where he doesn't gather appreciative looks.

"I do not care if it upsets them. I have a card that says I have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, it is necessary for me to move about during the flight." He pulls out his wallet and shows Tom the card. "Benjamin was diagnosed at eleven."

He sinks into the seat, staring about the cabin restlessly. "The chairs are comfortable."

Appreciative, stunned and curious looks are better than digust and horror, though, as Tom notes. And his more striker comrade can attract attention. He's happy to sink back into the shadow and let someone else absorb the room.

"That's something useful to have. Just don't wander too far, there are always screaming babies in coach you may want to avoid." Moviewise, it's chick-flicks. Nothing terribly interesting. "Not that you'll be sitting down enough to truly appreciate that, though, right?"

There's an ant on the armrest. He brushes it away quickly.

Star sighs and waves a hand dismissively. "Whatever." He learnt that phrase early on from Ric. "Yes, of course, I am an evil mastermind with nothing better to do with my time than plan the institutionalisation of one of my dearest friends' uncle. Do you want me to get up so you get out of there?" They're levelling off and the seatbelt sign has clicked off.

He doesn't even catch most of what Star's saying, though he'd be infuriated if he did. "Yes. Yes, for the love of God-" Oh God oh God the ants. There are more than he thought. They're crawling on him, biting, and he's stuck here. They're on Star, too, and he's oblivious or of the mind he can convince Tom otherwise.

He slides out of the way to let Tom get past, sighing as he does so.

It is seeming increasingly likely that Tom is not mentally balanced. Maybe he was being aggravated by the flying. A lot of people reacted badly to flying.

Tom bolts, or does the closest he can while manuevering between airplane seats, and finally stops halfway down the aisle. They're all bloody over him, all over and he's just covering his face at this point to keep them away from his eyes. And he can't very well run without vision, or really any advantage to it.

One of the stewardesses tries to approach him and he lashes out at her. Another taps Star on the shoulder - "Sir, what's wrong with your friend and can you calm him down?"

Star seems either unaware or indifferent to being watched. If not for the way he tosses his hair back his shuldr and shakes out the tail while waiting for Tom to slide into his seat, it'd almost be believeable that he hadn't noticed he was being watched.

Tom slides in, checking the seat first despite having been told there are no ants. He rather envies Star's ability to ignore the curious stares. "There's a movie in a few minutes. You could ask a stewardess for headphones."

Star is used to being considered a freak. He doesn't care. People have stared at him his entire life. He sits down and stares at the cabin roof for a moment. "What movie?"

"Wedding Date? I don't know, some movie for women. With the skinny redhead from the TV."

"Untrue. I have a compensatory metabolism. If I am insufficiently nourished, I will simply rest more. Humans do not have such an efficient conversion system as my own. Is that a reference to the low standards of food apparently offered on airplanes?"

"You're not going to adequately rest if you're not in bed, so obviously you should eat more. Though, inflicting double portions of airport food on you seems cruel. That's how bad it is."

Star goes quiet for a moment.

"I have found that most humans do not appreciate the food they are given. They are spoilt. I have been in a situation where we did not have food for nearly a week. I have also lived in the pens, fed by the processing plant. I am certain this food is more than acceptable."

"Too true. Most people don't know the value of food. I've only once been in such a position." He'd eaten insects to survive, insects and rotting meat and anything not to die out there. "I'll admit to being a bit spoilt for my food, though. I'm still not hungry."
