Today is the seventh day of Elul, the month of the Hebrew calendar leading up to the High Holy Days: Rosh HaShanah (The New Year), Yom Kippur (The Day of Atonement), and the days between, a total of ten. We Jews (should) spend this month in spiritual preparation. For ten years now this organization has been emailing a meditation each day of Elul

That is beautiful - sad and hopeful at the same time, acknowledging so many human frailties in the simple act of placing containers of water here and there.
