Yeah, it's too bad people try to ban books on the basis of their content, whether or not they've actually read them, rather than on the fact that they just suck.

Sometimes even bad novels make us think... and how many good novelists have gotten the courage to submit after reading a really bad novel and thinking, "I'm a better writing than this!"?

That is true. It's happened to me. There's a paperback I keep on my shelf for just that purpose.
