[If you knew of the events on the Flying Pussyfoot in December 1931 or the true reason behind his alias, Vino, you'd have a hard time distinguishing the tavern from the conductor car on the Flying Pussyfoot or just a normal everyday hit. The walls are covered in the blood of the drone patrons and co-workers and so is ( Read more... )

[Kiritsugu's not killdroned. Not anymore, anyways. He wants to act like he is, since that would net him a few extra seconds, but he knows he doesn't have the demeanor of one.]

[Running away would end badly, as well.]

[Quietly, he starts drawing his own gun, the S&W Model 59, one of the two he has been carrying around the last couple of days.]

[Claire turns around holding his own gun. Even though it might seem like it...he didn't know he was there.]

Hmm?

Hello. Fine weather we're havin', isn't it?

[By now, Kiritsugu's holding his own gun straight ahead as well. He knows very well that shooting someone with a gun anywhere but the head will only hurt him, so he's subtly trying to line up the shot into an instantly fatal spot.]

[Luckily, unlike its prior version, the 59 has adjustable sights, which aid Kiritsugu in that task. It took several modifications of his own to get it working properly, considering the model shouldn't have been invented until 20 years in Mayfield's future, but fortunately, apart from the parabellum cartridge and feed system, the 59 doesn't differ that much from the 39, which was widely available in the 50s.]

[It's stronger, though. That could come handy.]

Oh I see, your the silent type, eh?

[He inches closer until he's close enough to kick the gun out of his hands.]

[Kiritsugu notices that, being aware (although seldom acrobatic enough to pull) of the move..]

[In this situation, shooting at Claire would simply result in the two men shooting each other. However, he figures that if he waits until the kick, he will be able to use that brief interval of focus to shoot him with his other firearm, the Thompson/Center Arms Contender. Being of a single shot, the Contender is hardly suited for combat, but Kiritsugu knows he won't be able to shoot any more than that anyways.]

[He still slowly backs off, if only to keep the impression that he's unaware of what to do.]

Cat got your tongue?

[Since Kiritsugu is backing down, the drone decides that instead of kicking, he'll just shoot him. Isn't he a nice drone?]

Well, I guess it doesn't matter. I mean it's your choice, right? Or might you have a cold, and can't talk? Maybe you should get checked out.

[And he pulls the trigger.]

[Kiritsugu recognizes the pull of the trigger and moves to the side. Of course, he's still human, and the bullet grazes his left arm, leaving a deep gash in it. True to his prediction, this causes him to pull his own trigger, firing at Claire himself. Having never swapped into the Contender, he immediately takes advantage of the subautomatic's capabilities, firing as much of the fourteen 9x19 mm rounds as he's capable of. Despite having a lot of experience with firearms, he rarely encounters enemies who wields them, and so, he's entirely unaccustomed to being shot.]

Guh...

[A couple of the shots hit Claire in his left shoulder, and a couple others just grazed the side of his head and the top of his left sholder, any ordinary person would have been defend by the sound and faint, but the drone still marches on despite only having one working arm and one ear.

His breathing is labored, and his arm is bleeding badly.]

So...you...can speak.

[He weakly lifts the pistol in his right hand and takes another shot.]

[Unfortunately, Kiritsugu's too wounded to move. The shot hit him straight in the chest, in what he recognizes to be a vital area. Without faltering for another moment, Kiri acknowledges that he has about two minutes of life, at best. Consciousness will be even more short-lived than that.]

[However, that doesn't mean he can't let a person like this bring harm to others.]

[The magazine has been emptied. Inconsequential. Kiritsugu's unable to use his left arm, so he motionlessly drops the S&W 59, letting his right hand fly towards his other weapon. Fortunately, he's an exceptionally quick draw. As the world fades to black around him, Kiritsugu pulls down the already-loaded Thompson Contender's hammer, the .30-06 bullet lined up in front of him.]

[He fires.]
