Out of the murderous innocence of the sea

Fandom: Battlestar Galactica
Rating: PG
Characters/Ships: Athena/Helo, Starbuck
Summary: The Agathons, reunited.
A/N: 590 words. Spoilers for Season 3. I hadn't planned on writing anything, but this missing scene kept nagging me. The title is from "A Prayer for my Daughter" by Yeats.

She won’t admit it, not even to Helo, but occasionally Sharon needs convincing. )

fic: 2008, fic: battlestar galactica

You're a really good writer no matter what the fandom is. I hope inspiration strikes you for an Adama/Rosalin story.

Thanks! It means a lot. :) In all honesty, though...it doesn't seem like there's too much interest. Oh, well. I tried.

awesome. most bsg characters have really pissed me off at one stage or another, but i've always loved athena and helo and you've really done them justice here. :)

Same here! I just finished watching S3 and just about the only characters I didn't want to toss out an airlock were Athena and Helo.

I'm so glad you liked this. Thank you SO much!

I suck. I missed this one when it was fresh. But, man. This is fabulous. Starbuck's, "You're right. I know shit about loss" has me all choked up.

Wow, the tension in this crackles! It really punched me in the gut when Sharon said to Kara that she didn't know what it was like to be given a child and then have it taken away from her, when of course, she had that happen to her with Kacey. I like the way you wrote Helo too, the way he expects his friendship with Kara to give him an easy out with her. Even Hera's reactions seems spot on. :)

Very nice, taut ficlet.

Thank you so much!

It irked me that we didn't see much of Athena and Helo's reunion with their daughter. I find Boomer to be the more interesting Eight, but Athena's loss and recovery of her daughter really got to me.
