I also like the idea of Harry going traveling for awhile. I could certainly see him wanting some time away from... everything.

The stars - it's funny. I had glow-in-the-dark stars on my ceiling back in New York. Then my dorm rooms at Smith and the University of Edinburgh had glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling. I've no idea who put them there, but I've decided that glow-in-the-dark stars are a sign that I'm where I should be. And when I was really little, I used to pretend there was an entranceway to a magic kingdom under my bed. So, that's kind of where the idea came from.
I love the idea of Harry traveling. The poor kid's had such a limited view of the world. He's been to Privet Drive, Hogwarts, Grimmauld Place, and the Burrow - and that's pretty much it except for his seventh year. He needs to see more.

AHHH, what a fantastic line! That's what clinched it for me, hehehehe. :D
I'm so pleased that you participated in this exchange; what a treat to see you write H/G (HP at all, for that matter!) again! :D
