Actually, can you imagine the two of them in a bar fight? They'd kick ASS. There's something quite Mal-ish about Jim, which I think would appeal to her. But I don't think she'd put up with his flirting. He, of course, would be smitten with her.

My Irish wife wears an almost identical ring. It was my grandmother's, and read (in Hebrew) "Whither thou goest, I will go."

How lovely! I always loved Zoe's practicality, but she did have a bit of romance in her, I think. Wash made her romantic, whether she liked it or not. And I think she kept that hidden, like the ring, until she met him.

She was romantic enough to want a slinky dress! *g* I love all the different layers of Zoe. You're right - Wash really brought out her romantic side, but she was always very level-headed and practical.
