Title: the way that light attaches to a girl
Fandom: Glee
Rating: teen (I think there's one swear word)
Pairing(s): Santana/Brittany
Summary: After her abuela kicks her out, Santana runs to Brittany.
Notes: I was feeling sad, so I wrote a sad little story. Not too sad, though. Set during "I Kissed A Girl" (3x07). 730 words.

By the time she reaches Brittany's house, she's trembling hard. )

fic: glee, fic: 2011

This is beautiful. I haven't watched Glee in forever, so I don't know exactly which bit of canon this refers to. Is there real Brittany/Santana in the show? Did Santana really get kicked out by her abuela? I kind of hope so, because I want to believe this story really happened afterward. I love the little ways Santana appreciates Brittany so much.

Thank you!

This was written in reaction to last week's episode, in which Santana was basically blackmailed into coming out. *sigh* Glee, Glee. I have such mixed feelings about that show. Some things they do very well, others ... not so much. But anyway, yes, Santana and Brittany are together and it's beautiful - when the show actually gives them screen time. And yes, after she came out, Santana's grandma told her to leave. :( (Her parents were more accepting.) The show didn't deal with the aftermath of that scene (though I think Naya Rivera did a lovely job of portraying Santana's heartache with just her expression), but I wanted to.

I'm basically still watching this show for Santana (and Santana/Brittany).

That does sound like an interesting story line. I always liked Brittany and Santana when I watched the show. Perhaps I'll have to hunt down a few relevant episodes.

It was. I'm bad at remembering episode titles, but Santana came out - to Brittany - some time toward the end of S2. Brittany was with someone else at the time, and there was angst.

Actually the prom episode - again, blanking on the title - was pretty good in general, but I remember it having some nice Britt/Santana moments.

I love Santana. She's kind of a mean person, but I wouldn't call her a bully and the moments when she opens up and shows how vulnerable she really is are quite moving. (She reminds me of Faith from BtVS in some respects.) I love how protective she is of Brittany too.

I loved this a lot. It's not too dramatic, but enough to get the point across, and I feel like you got their characterization down really well. I really like your style of writing, too; the whole thing really flowed, and I could see everything you described very clearly. Awesome job.

Thank you so much!

I'm so glad you liked the way I characterized Santana and Brittany, since this was my first time writing them. I feel like, in a situation like this, where she doesn't have to prove anything, Santana's explosion would be a little more contained. :)
