I really love all the changes that you made to this! I think this final draft was the one where it really made it seem like Kirk and Gaila had something at stake here.

I kept getting to the original version of Krul's line about cutting Jim's heart out - and giggling. I mean, it's something a Klingon would totally say, but it seemed ... silly. So I knew I had to change it, but for a while I wasn't sure how. Plus I think it helps that Jim and Gaila are being threatened with the same thing, sort of.

This turned out great! The beginning is lovely and sexy -- these two are so good together -- and Gaila with a bat'leth is awesome. ;-)

He’d been frightened too, she realized. Badly. He would never admit it, and she would never try to force him to admit it, but she knew. Even so, she was startled by the violence of the shudder that rippled through him. She held him tighter, hoping to absorb some of it with her own body, deepening the strokes of her tongue and fingers, humming soothingly against his lips.

I love the idea of Gaila with a bat'leth! Even beaten up, Kirk recognizes the hotness. *g*

That's my id part. The assault probably counts as id-y too, plus Gaila-to-the-rescue. But I love me some h/c.

Aww this was great. I love a kick arse Gaila and that her and Jim, while not soul mates like and respect each other. Sex doesn't have to be about true love and forever and ever. I love my OTPs but I like little snippets at some of our favourite characters like this too.
