I'm so glad you're enjoying this story, and especially my McCoy. I feel like I've been a little in love with the character for most of my life, and Karl Urban's performance ... rekindled the flame, I guess. Thank you so much!

Bones wants to get rid of Jim? That breaks my heart but I'm loving the ouchy feel.
I heart your stories so ♥ Can't wait for more!

“If I wanted you to call me any of those names,” Leonard says in a low growl, “that’s how I’d’ve introduced myself.”
What a mean and evil place to leave it on! You better get part two up soon *glares*
The Jim that is in here is wonderful and messed up and yet still functioning and so Jim. The insight into McCoy and his own unique southern charm was also a delight to read. Now post part two and make it all better...

What's weird is that I don't know what Jim has been calling Bones for the past two months. I like to think he spent part of the time he was wandering around the beach thinking up a good nickname.
Anyway, thank you! I'm so glad you like Jim here! I like to think he cleaned up his act at the Academy, but he just got there and it's hard to break self-destructive habits.
Ah, but will Part Two make it all better??

Would have been calling him McCoy like most males do. They tend to call each other by their surname. It was weird when I first started to play aussie rules, even though we were a girl's team, you got called by your surname. Which made me just stop and laugh anytime someone would call me "Johnson" or "Johnno". That is my dad, not me.
It would have taken him a little bit and I don't think he has fully broken them, but it is a Military Academy, he would have had to abide by the rules, with some occassional bending to see how far he could go, is my own personal fanon.
You better make it all better *pouts* I won't share anything about Karl this weekend. (Who am I kidding, I still will)

I kind of like being called by my surname. One of my co-workers did that the other day, out of nowhere, and it tickled me. Possibly it was the novelty of it. *shrug*
I think that when Jim sets a goal for himself, he generally doesn't allow things to get in his way. He told Pike he'd make it through the Academy in three years, so he's not going to let his own behavior screw him up. I really think he cleans up his act early on, though perhaps not immediately. This is partly the story of that.
This weekend is the Karl Weekend? Eeee, so awesome! You'd better share!
