Awww! This is cute friendship fic. I somehow think I would be terrified of transporters too, if I lived in Star Trek. I have enough trouble with the bus.

I am not sure I'd be comfortable with transporters either. They're fast, which is a plus, but they don't make any sense, which is a definite minus. I'm afraid I'm with Bones here.

I love Scotty's "As if I woulda let that happen," especially.
He gets picked on a lot in the new!Trek fandom, I've noticed, and it's sort of frustrating for me, because, in my mind, Scotty will always be James Doohan bending laws of physics and doing everything he can and more to get the Enterprise and her crew away from danger in one piece. I think you get that, which is really nice.

He really doesn't get enough love from the newbies, does he? I keep hearing that 1) he was only there for comic relief and 2) he doesn't interact without any besides Kirk and Keenser, so what can you do with that? I dunno. I mean, I loved Simon Pegg's Scotty, but yeah, when I write about him, he's almost always Jimmy Doohan in my mind. (Even though I imagined Karl Urban's McCoy here - just because getting that frazzled is more of a young!Bones thing.)

Scotty's always been my second favorite - after McCoy. I mean, the man can do just about anything! He's awesome.
