I'm so tired of dishonest authors. Two out of these three books are self-published, but as is the trend in self-publishing, they do what they can to hide that fact. The author of one of the books, the Sidekick one, actually wrote: "In an attempt to ... look more professional, I created an entirely fictitious publishing imprint

I've read a few books with that computers-quit-working or all-technology-ceases kind of theme. Sorry you had a handful of disappointing reads! Hopefully the next one is better.

Usually the 'all tech stops working' thing works for me, just not this time...

Luckily I seem to have broken the trend! I just started reading Admiral ( https://www.amazon.com/Admiral-Sean-Danker-ebook/dp/B00S75RYXG ) and it's REALLY good.
