Been five days since my last post. While I've been reading my friends list, I haven't felt like posting. Lots of points in semi-random order ( Read more... )

dreams, stress, health: bariatric surgery, work sucks, fanfic, harry potter

My period is very sensitive to stress so whenever I have a big event coming up it will rearrange itself to the most inconvenient time (or so it feels like). That's no fun, body! I hope yours is behaving better!

My venture into fanfic is sporadic at best but sometimes the bug hits and I binge read. I can read all parings in HP though I like when they're Hermione-centric. I like the age- and power disparity in fic a lot and started out with Lucius/Hermione because what kind of journey dont they need to get through to make that relationship not in every way messed up? Character growth! I have since switched more to Draco/Hermione since I think he is a more interesting character to explore, (and there are more fics that 'redeem' him believably).

Yeah, I figured it was stress. I'm confident that it will hit once I'm in the hospital or soon after. (I guess at least I'll be on good drugs by then, so cramps won't be an issue.)

I'm not much of a het reader, but I'll read Lucius/anyone (other than Draco). You're right, the journey Lucius/Hermione would have to make would be a great read!

Yeah, stress definitely affects my period, too. It'll inevitably happen exactly when I don't want it to. :/

The longest I ever went without a period was nearly three months in high school, when I was running track for a season. I was miserable enough, I guess my body decided it didn't need to add to the misery. ^^;

Yeah, I'm betting that's it, too. Blah! I bet it'll happen in or as I'm just leaving the hospital (hopefully the latter).

Haha, it was very kind of your period to be that considerate! ;)

"Work sucks. I'm taking three weeks off for this, but in our group there's no reduction of amount of work or deadlines because of vacation -- so I have the same work and the same deadlines, with three weeks less to do it in. Way to let us enjoy our vacations. Most people in my group work though theirs."

WTF? What's the point in taking vacation if you work through it?!?!

Yeah. Our group works nights, weekends, and vacations. One of our members works 12-16 hour days, seven days a week, no exceptions. It sucks. But because our business section brings in less money than the other sections (we compete with companies offering free tools, no other sections have to), we get a lot less manpower and money.

I know stress throws off my period, which is just mean because what makes a girl even MORE stressed than guessing what day her period will start? Girl parts are just plain evil!

Yep, to all that. As if I needed more stress! Will it start before? During? After my hospital stay? Am I depressed because I'm PMS? Or really am? WHO KNOWS! Welcome to being female!

:P
