Yeah, after I made the post, I wondered at my wanting to read the second one. It did have really, really big issues, and the whole setup is for the love triangle. Ah well, I can always give up on the second book if it bugs me too much. We'll see! I think I'll read it next.

You know what I find absolutely hilarious about that book? A study performed in the 70's (Haven't researched if it's been retried elsewhere.) found that women become sterile below ground. One scientist believes that our menstrual cycles are caused and regulated by solar radiation. Without the sun we don't have a cycle. (Also don't know if more than one guy believes this..)

So just how are these people breeding below ground. Hmm!

Does also bring up interesting things about space exploration. Can we breed away from our sun? I'm very interested in knowing that.

Ha! That's an interesting point. I highly doubt the author would have found that study though -- a big chunk of her research was watching that Life After People TV show that was on a while back. Her words!
