Typos and Game of Thrones

I often worry I'll make some innocent typo at work, but by chance it will look worse than just a typo. I was writing up some instructions for a command, insert_buffer. The G key is right next to the F though, and I typoed it insert_bugger (redundant!). Hopefully if I hadn't caught it, software people would think first of it being related to bugs ( Read more... )

The software people may have been grateful for the light relief (as it were)...

I keep saying it, but I think the show is doing a much better job with the characters than GRRM does. :/ I think the actors are a huuuuuuge part of it. Another is I think the writers pare down the prose to what's important and have the luxury of having a paragraph of writing conveyed in two seconds of non-verbal communication.

I liked this episode much better than the last one, too. I realized it was focusing mostly on characters that were ignored last one and, like you mentioned, didn't flip around as much. I think that helped it a lot.

The wedding was great. But I think my favorite part was the morning after, and the exchange between Tyrion and Shae. I hoped you were watching for that part, or you'd miss it. ;)

[Daario book spoilers]I suspect what annoys you so much about him is Dany's obvious infatuation with him. It took me a while to recall, but I think he's the one that Dany says repeatedly in Dance she would marry if she could get away with marrying a mercenary captain, which she can't.

I think you're right. It's odd, usually I'd like a book version better than TV/movie, but in this case it works better. The books are just so verbose, it's nice to just get to the essence of things. Sixteen paragraphs about food in the book can become visual background for the important stuff.

Yep, I watched it! The little silent exchange made me grin.

I suspect you're right in the spoiler text, too.
