I am glad to hear more about Ellie! All cats have opinions about things. I think it is a breed requirement. It sounds like she is doing very well.

Is there such a thing as a normal cat? *looks at Kidlet's cat, who is purring loudly while being carried upside down under the kid's armpit*

I think you're right about it being a requirement. :P

Huh, I've never heard of the 'scary while horizontal' thing--that's the exact opposite of Arnold and Tali, who had great fear of people approaching them while vertical for a while after I got them. Arnold eventually mellowed about it (once we moved to my last place and also seemed to get used to C-- and I), Tali is still working on it. But horizontal? Nope. Arnold loved it when I went horizontal.

Yeah, see, doesn't the opposite make sense? People can move when they're upright. When I'm horizontal, I'm so much less threat.

I have similar hopes as you: Once it gets colder in winter, I hope she's more willing to cuddle at night. Just substitute me for a second cat!

...I can imagine a previous owner being really nasty about discouraging her from stepping on / bothering them while they were lying down. That would do it. :-/

Yeah, that could be. D: Poor girl, a kitty sleeping with you is the best thing ever.
